Now two weeks had passed for Xavier uneventfully. He studied hard and tried to stay out of trouble, keeping to himself. In the first few days, after the attack in the alley, he was fearful the police might show up and question him about what had transpired. Though, the three young men never reported the incident, merely tending to their injuries at Hospital. So, thankfully, justice was never forthcoming, much to Xavier's relief.
Xavier had decided to save the money he had left so he might be able to afford to treat his sisters to a Christmas Eve dinner at the Savoy in a few weeks. It had been cold and rainy much of the days, the last time he enjoyed the warmth of the sun on his face was that Saturday morning when Norman dropped him off at the entrance to the University. Xavier had been very depressed and troubled. Homesick as he was, Xavier struggled to make it through class and the endless hours reading/studying in the Library. It was on this particular dark, dismal, drizzle filled, Friday night, around 7:00 when Xavier gathered up his economics/finance books and notepads and pencils into his well worn brown leather back pack as the librarian and her assistant began to close for the night. Xavier said goodnight to Lizzy as the two went outside going their separate ways, heading back to the boredom of their dorm rooms, when Xavier was shocked to see the old Locksmith van his friend Norman drove and worked out of.
Xavier approached the vehicle peering in to see if Norman was sitting inside, but he did not find any trace of the giant of a man. Until Xavier heard the cling-clang, rattling of skeleton keys, screwdrivers and ball peen hammers etc... attached to Norman's tool belt.
"Hey ho! Whattcha' up to mate!" came Norman's deep booming voice that did Xavier's heart good to hear.
"Norm! What brings you out tonight?" Xavier said as he strode over, a cheerful smile on is face as he shook hands with his new friend.
"Got a call out to open up a safe." Norman informed him as a lightness lifted his heart, for Norman was glad to have run into his Latin friend.
"Yeah?"
"Yup, one of these old geezer dropped dead, no one had the combination to his office safe, so eighty quid later and I got it opened for them." he said in a braggadocios manner.
"Wow, you can open up safes as well?" Xavier asked impressed with his friend's skill.
"You know it! There's nothing I can't get into!" Norman laughed then added with a cheek "Well, I tell a lie there is one thing I can't get into." he smiled wryly.
"Yeah? What's that?"
"Felicity Kendal's pants!" Norman laughed heartily as Xavier looked confused.
"Who is Felicity Kendal?" Xavier asked, as he was unfamiliar with the comedies of the BBC.
"Who is Felicity Kendal? What are you like?" Norman said a little offended Xavier had no clue as to the hot blond actress he was referring to. However, Norman knew his friend of foreign origin was missing out on a lot of things British so he wanted to teach Xavier all about his home the great bustling city of London and all the bright lights of the big city offered, from the street life to the music. And when he learned Xavier had never even tried 'fish and chips' Norman decided right then and there that Xavier should come out to London so he could see how regular folk, the non-polo playing sort, down to earth, hard working people had fun on the weekend.
Xavier hurried back to his dorm room as Norm tagged along to have a slash and see where Xavier lived on campus. Norman was shocked to see just how tiny of a room it was. As he waited for Xavier to shower and change Norman looked around the small desk where he thumbed through a few books, then he came across a picture of Xavier with two beautiful young women, who he assumed correctly were Xavier's sisters. Norman stood there gazing at the faces and sweet happy smiles of the dark eyed beauties as Xavier came back into the room from the hallway.
"This is Felina, here on my left and my little sister Serena on my right." Xavier said pointing at the photograph taken at one of his winning polo matches. He looked at the image of himself and he felt sad not having a riding uniform, his string of ponies, or a team anymore.
"Don't be offended mate, but Goddamn! Your sisters are fucking gorgeous! How old are they?"
"Felina is twenty four!"
"Same age as me! Perfect!" his eyes lit up and Xavier tried not to laugh for he well knew Norman was not Felina's type of man.
"Serena is sixteen." he said as he took the photo away from Norman who leered at the images of his sisters a little too long.
"Look at you! Damn fine in your polo gear!" Norman said impressed by his friend's former accomplishments in a very rigorous and dangerous sport. "Well come on let's get outta here! There's a band I'm going out to see tonight and I think you will like them." Norman said as the two men exited the residency hall and went out to the old beaten up work van. As they climbed in Norman fired up the engine and turned up the 8 track player in his dash as he said "Give 'em a listen, They're called the Stooges."
A loud, in your face, guitar riff came out of the speakers as a wild voiced singer belted out 'I'm a street walkin' cheetah with a heart full of napalm! I'm a runaway son of the Nuclear A-Bomb! I am the worlds forgotten boy the one who searches to destroy! Somebody gotta help me please! Somebody gotta save my soul!' here Norman sang along to the loud, harsh, music. This was not something that was to the liking of Xavier as he preferred classical guitar, Jeff Beck , Eric Clapton, Led-Zeppelin. This new style of punk and new wave music took a little getting used to, but a few pints of lager and few lines of cocaine later and Xavier had a great time at the club. He and Norman slammed danced in the 'mosh pit' in front of the stage as the band played on fueling the rage in Xavier's heart he harbored against his mother who had alienated him from his family, his friends, his money, wealth and privilege. So Xavier raged on through the entire weekend and he and Norman had more fun than to young men should be allowed to have. It was after the show when Xavier caught the eye of two hot young birds who were just dying to chat up the handsome, strong, dark eyed young man. So enamoured with Xavier were they, the two invited him and Norman back to their family townhouse in Holland Park where, with their parents away for weekend, the two sisters had the grand house all to themselves. So the 19 year old Latin male from Argentina and the 24 year old locksmith from Islington hopped in the back of a taxi with the 17 and 18 year old brunettes. Norman sat across from the trio who began kissing and fondling one another in the back seat as Norman lit up a big joint thoroughly entertained by what he was watching. Norman liked his new handsome friend who could get him closer to the really fit/hot girls.
